Stump Block Printing

$60.00

Stump Block printing is a great way to bring a piece of the outdoors inside in the form of a gorgeous and detailed work of art.

In this class I will be demonstrating how to turn a regular stump into a stamp for block printing by sanding, firing with a blow torch, and cleaning. Then we will learn basic block printing techniques and you will be able to choose your stump from a variety of local soft and hardwoods.

The range of final project size depends on your stump and your design choice- it will be possible to put more than one stump image onto your paper. Sizes range from 12”x12” to 30”x30” and can be cut to size.

The final part of class will be making a magnetic hanger for your art out of redwood and magnets.

By the end you will have a beautiful and timeless piece of art for your home as well as the skills to make more for yourself or as gifts in the future!
